How overage fees work
Each plan has a file limit. If you exceed it, overage fees apply automatically. You won't be blocked—indexing continues, and overage is billed at the end of your cycle.
Example
You're on the Pro plan (1.5M files) and index 1.9M files. That's 400,000 files over your limit. Overage fee: €1,000 (charged per 400,000 files over).
If overage becomes regular, consider upgrading to the next tier—it's usually cheaper than paying overage repeatedly.
Only active files count toward limits. Deleted files (marked as "ghosts") don't count.
Common questions
What counts as a file?
Every file and folder that Datieve indexes counts toward your limit. Deleted files are tracked as "ghosts" but don't count against your limit.
Can I upgrade or downgrade?
Yes. Contact us to change plans mid-cycle. Upgrades are prorated. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal.
What if I go way over my limit?
There's a hard cap slightly above each plan's limit where indexing pauses. This prevents runaway overage. You can upgrade or remove files to continue.
Is there a free trial?
