At Datieve, we take your privacy seriously. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data.

Data We Collect

File Metadata (Indexing Only)

We collect only file metadata from your selected folders for the purpose of creating a searchable index:

• File names - To display files in your team dashboard
• File paths - To show folder structure and location
• File sizes - To display file size information
• Timestamps - Creation and last modified dates for sorting and filtering
• File types - To categorize and filter files

Important: File contents are NEVER uploaded to our servers unless you explicitly request a file transfer. Metadata is used solely for indexing and making files discoverable to your team.

Account Information

We collect your name, email address, and team size when you create an account. This information is used for authentication, team management, and billing purposes only.

Statistical Data

We collect aggregate statistics for operational purposes only:

• Total number of files indexed across all teams
• Total number of file transfer requests
• Storage usage metrics

We do NOT use this data to improve our product, for marketing, or for any purpose other than displaying statistics and ensuring system stability.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used strictly for the following purposes:

• File indexing - To create a searchable index of your team's files
• File discovery - To allow team members to find and browse indexed files
• Secure file transfers - To facilitate encrypted file transfers when requested
• Authentication - To verify your identity and manage access
• Billing - To process payments and manage subscriptions
• Essential notifications - To send critical service updates and security alerts
• Statistics only - To display aggregate usage statistics (total files indexed, transfer counts)

We do NOT use your data for:

• Product improvement or analytics beyond basic statistics
• Marketing or advertising purposes
• Sharing with third parties (except infrastructure providers listed below)
• Training AI or machine learning models
• Any purpose not explicitly listed above

Zero-Knowledge Encryption

When files are transferred, they are encrypted on your device before upload using end-to-end encryption. We cannot decrypt or access your file contents.

Data Retention

Files uploaded for transfer are immediately deleted from our servers after download. Metadata is retained as long as your account is active.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services for infrastructure (Railway, Cloudflare R2) and payments (Stripe). These services have their own privacy policies.

Your Rights
